About this position: 

This company is a systems integrator for variable speed drive control and automation systems covering a wide range of industries including, automotive, oil and gas, metals, paper, plastics, extrusion, printing and converting.

They are currently looking for a Project/Commissioning Engineer to join their team. You will be involved in VSD, HMI, PLC, and SCADA projects as well as breakdown support. You would also be providing key engineering services to support process machinery control systems. 

This role would provide you with the opportunity to potentially travel overseas and UK wide. 

Job Responsibilities:

• PLC and HMI upgrades, FAT’s, site installations with the assistance of contractors and retro fits and modifications
• Carrying out factory and site acceptance tests
• Panel hardware design experience using Automated CAD software – Eplan, AutoCAD, or RS Wire software 

Experience Required:

• Qualified to HNC/D or above
• Familiarity of some robotics platforms which could include ABB, Fanuc, Yaskawa, Kuka, Staubli, or cobots 
• Knowledge of functional safety and current machinery directives
• Strong programming, commissioning, and fault-finding experience with a variety of drive and PLC application processes including winding, converting, extrusion & tension control loops
