My client is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to work in a small and busy team. You will be required to perform various tasks in a busy manufacturing production facility. This role requires a high level of manual dexterity as the main activity involves detailed assembly work.
The role:
- Mechanical assembly of component parts, for both modular assemblies and machine build
- Ability to read and understand technical (component and generally assembly) drawings, and build assemblies and machines to these drawings
- Understanding of pneumatic systems
- Understanding of basic hydraulic systems
- Adhering and working to health and safety legislations
- Adherence to company policies and procedures
- Maintaining a clean, organised and productive work area
- Complete given tasks in an efficient, fast and friendly manner
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
- Applicable Apprenticeship and / or time served or relevant qualifications (C&G, BTEC or equivalent)
- Good inter-personal skills, team work, hands-on approach with effective verbal and written communication skills
- Relevant previous mechanical fitting experience
- Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working on bespoke machine assembly would be desirable
- Ability to work methodically and to high standards
- Ability to work to close tolerances
- Ability to be proactive and work with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of pneumatic systems
- Machine shop experience desirable
- Knowledge of hydraulics systems desirable
