About this role:

Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing Engineering, this Manufacturing Engineer role will be part of a team that has a responsibility to deliver manufacturing engineering capability through the product development phase, new product introduction phase and into serial production.
 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Work closely with the engineering design team/system owners to manage and drive the manufacture for design. Make vs buy.
  • Develop, manage, and deploy manufacturing readiness packages that feed into the manufacturing plan/strategy.
  • Lead and drive continuous improvement activities to make effective change, utilising lean and 5s methodologies.
  • Support off-site manufacturing requirements – Must be able to travel (Potentially extended periods of time).
  • High level operational process creation, deployment, and governance.
  • Self-starter and self-motivator to drive themselves and others.
  • Own advanced manufacturing engineering requirements during product development phase to include MBOM creation, process planning, equipment requirements, PFMEAs, virtual builds, labour estimation and planning of build manuals/documentation.
  • Specify and support the design of tooling and jigs required for eFoiler composite manufacture and vessel system fit out.
  • Work with the engineering and operations team to troubleshoot any process or equipment issues through the new product introduction and into the series manufacture phase.
  • Comply with ATL’s policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to shaping a culture that reflects ATL Values and enables ATL to achieve its goals.
  • Build good working relationships across the ATL business.

 

Qualifications Required

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline, or demonstrable relevant work experience over a 2+ year period.
  • Design for manufacture and assembly experience, with a proven ability to engage and work with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver improved manufacturability.
  • Experience of advanced manufacturing engineering tools and their deployment, preferably in a high-technology engineering NPI environment.
  • Experience of taking products through the NPI phase and into series production.
  • Experience of troubleshooting and resolving complex manufacturing and assembly issues (process and/or design related).
  • Industrialisation experience during a high growth period.
